The SAAU in a Nutshell

After months of planning and preparation the Sustainable Archaeology Animation Unit is online.

So what are we? The SAAU was created to bridge the gap between Archaeology and the Visual Arts by using a combination of 3D Computer Generated Imagery and Film / Video production techniques.

The initial pilot project runs from May to August and is staffed by talented animators from Loyalist College. We have multiple projects planned for this summer,  including a CG recreation of the Lawson site in London Ontario, 3D digitization of heritage material and an online system to make it all accessible.

Good things are happening.
